What's "oekaki"?
Oekaki is online drawing. Artists use programs like OekakiBBS and PaintBBS to draw pictures, then post them to a message board where other people can view the pictures and comment on them. To draw oekaki on this board, you must be registered and you must have Sun Java installed. The word "oekaki" is Japanese for "scribble" or "doodle."
On the drawing page, I see an empty box and a red X. Why can't I draw?
You need to install Sun Java on your computer.
Can I draw a picture somewhere else and post it here?
Sorry, no. This is not deviantArt. This board is for drawing pictures using the oekaki applets.
When should I mark a picture "Adult"?
Basically, when the picture contains nudity, it needs to be marked Adult. Adult pictures are the kind of pictures that would embarrass you if your parents or your coworkers caught you looking at them. If you can't decide whether your picture is Adult or not, ask someone else for an opinion, or just mark it "Adult" to be on the safe side. You can always change the setting later.
Why can't I view Adult pictures?
I drew a picture, why isn't it on the front page?
Your picture is not considered finished or done until you say so. In the menu, go to "Unfinished Pics" and click on "Settings". Just below the picture, and above the box where you type the Title, there is a checkbox saying "This picture is done, make it public." Check that checkbox and hit the "Edit Picture Settings" button at the bottom of the page. Now the picture's done and available for the world to see. If you change your mind and want to un-finish a picture, just edit the picture's settings again and un-check that checkbox.
What is WibbleOekaki? And what does "beta" mean?
WibbleOekaki is a new PHP oekaki script inspired by OekakiPoteto, Wacintaki, and PHP Oekaki. The script does all the work of saving pictures and comments and keeping track of members. WibbleOekaki is all the work of me, Stephanie M. (username saturnine). I started working on it in autumn 2005. "Beta" means that a program is not done yet.
